I planned a fish party for my Dad on Sunday. He is visiting from Hawaii right now and loves to fish. I thought a fish pool party would be appropriate. We had a great time and enjoyed this beautiful delicous cake by Tanya at Domestic Arts Custom Cakes. The marlin was so neat.

I hope everyone has a great day today. Enjoy the weather and time with your family! I am spending the day with my boys at home :)

Last week I had the chance to meet and work with Forever Cherished Productions. I cannot wait to share the video they made of the styled shoot. The owners, Shelby and Aaron are a joy to work with. They are a married couple that are passionate about what they do and are a lot of fun. I encourage you to check out their work. If you are interested in doing something a little fun with your wedding dress when the wedding if over check out their Trash the Dress section for some inspiration :)

I love the idea of having pies for a favor for a summer wedding or shower. There is no better place than Michigan for cherries, so why not go for cherry pies? You could give out mini individual pies or a large pie for each couple or family. You could make them yourself or order them from a bakery. You can present them with ribbons, boxes, bags, and baskets. The packaging ideas are endless.

Last week I had my very first styled shoot. It was so much fun! I'm not going to lie it was a TON of work. It took months to plan. I had the chance to work with some awesome vendors that I have never worked with and I learned a lot. I have to keep the details a secret, but I will say our theme was very different and it was challenging. I cannot wait to share it with all of you. I want to thank Miranda Hopkins from Inner Circle Photography, Aaron and Shelby Mayberry from Forever Cherished Productions (I saw the video last night and it was so great), Tanya Luz from Domestic Arts Custom Cakes, Amity Rice from  Marbella Couture (she designed a perfect bridal gown), Andi Campbell from Elli Bell Services, Teresa Balogh from Mi Amore Hair and Makeup, and of course our models Alexis and Ryan. Everyone worked well together and the date went great. I already have ideas for my next one :)

Hawaii is a beautiful place for a destination wedding or a honeymoon. The weather is perfect year round. It is very relaxed and a different way of life. Each island is very different. Whether you prefer adventure, relaxation, or sightseeing each island is sure to have it. The islands are close together you can visit more than one. You can get married on a beach, by a volcano, or in front of a waterfall. You can have a traditional ceremony or do something a little more Hawaiian. If you would love to do a destination wedding but are worried some loved ones might miss it, you could have your reception back home. You can wear your dress again, a different one, or have it more casual. It would be nice to hire a good videographer so that you can show your ceremony at the reception. If you decide to get married there or any destination it is a good idea to hire a wedding planner. There is a lot of research to be done. Save yourself the time and trouble and let a professional handle everything.

Today my baby, Sawyer turns 1! With my first son (Cooper) this was such an exciting day. My husband and I were always so anxious to see what he would do next. We pushed him and cheered him on to every milestone. Every new thing he accomplished was new and exciting for us. With Sawyer, it seems I wanted him to stay tiny. Of course as every parent I am proud with every milestone he reaches (which seemed to happen much faster, he was mobile way too early for me). But, I also feel a little sadness that my little baby is growing up. Not knowing whether we will decide to have another child or not I want to cherish every moment of having a baby.  I miss having him fall asleep in my arms and him being content and entertained just by watching me. If you're at that time in your life for kids i'm sure everyone will tell you to enjoy it while their young because they grow up so quickly. It is so true! They are constantly changing and learning new things every day.  Happy Birthday my sweet baby boy Sawyer! I will post pictures soon of his birthday party I have planned for this Sunday. I am very excited about it and have been planning it for months.

I love that I have the opportunity to work with so many amazing vendors. Yesterday I  worked with Miranda from Inner Circle Photography for the first time. First off she is a blast to work with. She's talented, fun, and goofy too. She has a unique style and I love the ideas she comes up with.  Check out her blog www.innercirclephotography.com/

I am loving headbands right now. There are so many looks right now, any type of bride can find a headband to go with her dress.

I just thought I would share these cute little pig and sheep cupcakes I made for my son's preschool picnic. It's fun and easy. I cut pink marshmallows for the noses and cut fruit roll-ups for the pigs ears. I cut white gum drops for the sheep ears and cut little white marshmallows in half for the sheep's face.

I made these monkey cupcakes in October for my son's third birthday. I frosted them with melted chocolate and used it for some details too. I used ginger snaps for the nose, mini oreos for the ears, and mini brown m&ms for the eyes.
