Perfect idea for a bachelorette party? How about a Slumber Party! And I don't mean the bring a sleeping bag and watch a movie kind. At a Slumber Party you can find products to spice up your love life, lingerie, novelties, and gifts. Perfect time for everyone to find a bachelorette party gift for the bride. They also have massage items, shave gel, and body sprays too. My neighbor, Lindsay just started her business with Slumber Parties. Check out her website. 1 Comment The Glamelia bouquet was very popular in the 40s and 50s. It is made from a ton of petals sewn together. It is usually made from roses, but it can be made from other flowers too. It has a very polished, classic look to it. I recently had the opportunity to tour the Hotel Baronette of Novi. What a beautiful hotel. It was recently rennovated and has really neat contemporary feel to it. I love that they include so much from Michigan. The artwork is made in Michigan, the restaurant serves food from Michigan, and even the little store has all Michigan products. The ballrooms for weddings or other events are beatiful and hold up to 300 people. There is even a small area outside for a ceremony. I had lunch at the Toasted Oak Grill and it was amazing! The guest rooms are very luxurious and include a pillow top mattress, Egyptian cotton sheets, and 37″ HD television! Contact Amber Oberly for more info or a tour amber.oberly@thebaronette.com or call 248-277-2010. This past weekend I was a part of an amazing style shoot! It was so much fun. It exceeded my expectations! Some parts were challenging. Most of it was hand-made, from the runner, napkins, and sweet table. I even did the flowers and stationery myself :) Marbella Couture designed the perfect dress! Julie and Hannah from Imagine 3 perfected the hair and make-up. Imagine 3 Photography and Forever Cherished were not afraid to get wet and dirty to get the best shots. I cannot wait to share all of it! But for now, here is a sneak peek...... Victoria's Secret has a new Sexy Little Bride Collection. Adorable! and super sexy! Whether you are looking for something for the wedding day or night, something blue, or the honeymoon you should check out the new line. Want some wacky photos from your wedding reception? Just bring some fun props and guests will be sure to use them. Photo booths and flip books often have a few props to use, but why not leave them on the guest tables or near the dance floor? Fake microphones, guitars, and glow sticks would make great dancing props. A small musical instrument such as a moracca or bells would make a great favor at each place setting. Guests could make music to get the bride and groom to kiss. Fun hats, glasses, fake mustaches, and boas would be fun to walk around and socialize with. Halloween stuff is coming out around this time, it's the perfect opportunity to find props. If you're worried about guests thinking it's cheesy wait a couple hours after dinner to bust them out. Everyone is sure to have a few cocktails in them and will be loosened up to have some fun! Last week I slacked big time on blogging! It has been crazy with this amazing styled shoot I was planning (just did it on Sunday, cannot wait to share details), adding another bride on for next year, planning parties and showers, planning a European vacation, had family in town, and not to mention two adorable little boys running around. I have a lot of very exciting things going on right now and I can't wait to share! I have updated my website in the events section. Check it out :) Looking for a retro wedding gown? You won't find much in the typical bridal gown boutiques. Consider having something custom made or looking on etsy. Below are a few that I found on line. Make the pregnant mama feel more comfortable about her growing tummy by having a 9 months pregnant shower. Invite the guests to come "nine months pregnant" (stuffed with pillows, etc.). It will create a funny, relaxed environment. Even better if you have a co-ed shower, so even the men will have stuffed shirts! A great theme for a baby shower is a story book shower. You base the theme and decorate with fairy tale books, board books, or a certain author such as Dr. Seuss or Eric Carle. Ask guests to bring their favorite children's book. You will build up quite a collection and you can never have too many books for your child. A cake that looks like a story book would be perfect. |
