It can make a complete transformation of someone in the matter of minutes—even on your worst day, makeup can make you look your best. Your wedding day is definitely a day that you need to make sure you look your best; you will most likely have more pictures taken of you that day than any other day in your life! That’s why your makeup is a crucial detail, along with your hairstyle, to think about when closely approaching your big day. Whether you choose to go glamorous or natural, you need to make sure the makeup you use will last all day with as little touchups as possible. Here are a few tips to make sure you are looking fabulous for your wedding. There are plenty of things to keep in mind: if you have a headpiece, bring it along to your hair consultation so they can try it in to make sure it will work, if your wedding is outside you may want to avoid leaving your hair down in case there is wind, choose something that fits your personality, ask your hair stylist what styles work best for your hair length, face shape, and hair color, consider the style of your dress and what kind of jewelry you will be wearing, and finally, choose something that will last the day with your hair type/texture. Before your hair consultation, browse online and through magazines to pick out some ideas you like to bring with you to your appointment so that your stylist can get a few options of what you might want for your big day. Below are a few suggestions: By Kylie There are many styles of veils to choose from: Blusher veil: a single layer worn over the face during the procession. Flyaway veil: a wispy, multilayered veil that sweeps the shoulders. Elbow veil: an A-line veil ending anywhere from the elbows to the fingertips. Fingertip veil: most versatile, this style is usually multilayered and touches the end of your fingertips. Sweep veil: a veil that brushes the ground, extending 8-12 inches beyond the gown. Chapel veil: a veil that extends to the floor, falling seven feet from the headpiece; may have multiple layers or a blusher veil. Cathedral veil: regal veiling that trails one to three yards behind the dress. By Melissa I couldn't wait any longer, I just have to share this! Back in August I did an amazing inspiration shoot with a really great team of vendors. The mosquitoes were awful, there were a lot of prickers, but it was a blast! I'm not really sure what to call it, so whimsical, enchanted forest it is. I am pretty proud of how the tablescape turned out. I did the whole thing myself including the stationery, flowers, and making the napkins and runner. It was a lot of fun, but I am by no means a florist! I (with the help of my lovely husband) created a seating card table. I call it my tree table. It is made from wood and vines and I covered it with moss. The Dress! Amity Rice of Marbella Couture designed the perfect dress for the shoot. She even incorporated moss into the dress! The hair and make up was beyond my expectations thanks to Julie and Hannah from Imagine Three. The string quartet was the perfect touch and made for the best background music for the video. (Plus it is my absolute favorite song to see brides walk down the aisle to). After the shoot was done we went down to a lake close by and trashed the dress! It was freezing cold water but they were troopers! I am going to keep you waiting for the video :) I will post it tomorrow. My blog can only handle so much awesomeness in one day! When Miranda from Inner Circle Photography first approached me about the idea of doing a shoot, she suggested a theme based on the movie "Scott Pilgrim vs. the World". I immediately ordered it on Netflix so I could see what this was all about it. Although, I cannot say that it was my kind of movie, I had some ideas. It was definitely a challenge for me, but I am always up for a challenge :) The shoot took place at the Andiamo Novi Theatre. I chose to do it there because it had a stage, a lot of the movie takes place with the band on a similar stage. I decided to super hero colors- red, blue, and yellow. I incorporated black and white polka dots throughout (the background in a comic book). For the centerpiece I used several different size vases filled with clear gel balls with red lights. I hand painted the chargers, the star girl in the movie carries a purse with a star on it like this. Tanya from Domestic Arts Custom Cakes nailed it on the awesome three tiered cake. Amity from Marbella Couture designed and hand-made the perfect bridal gown. She even incorporated the polka dots :) Andi from ElliBell Creative Services did an amazing job on the stationery, she even drew the pictures by hand! I had such a blast doing my first shoot with an incredible group of vendors. I will share the video tomorrow.
